You can embed websites or video into the map. This is a great way to create something like a video screen.
- Click on Tile effects in the top panel.
- Select YouTube from the right panel.
- Enter the link of the video you want to embed in the YouTube Link to Embed box.
- Enter a value in the Width and Height boxes. The value of width and height are measured in tiles and each tile is 32px x 32px.
- Select the play method.
- Press play to start the video
- Play video immediately
YouTube videos often have a screen ratio of 16:9, so maintaining that ratio is generally a good idea.
It is recommended that only one autoplay video be embedded in a map.
Embed Web Links into a Tile
You can embed websites into a Space in the form of a portal or an embed.
- Click on Tile effects in the top panel.
- Select Web Links from the right panel.
- Enter a link to open in the Website to Connect box.
- There are three options to embed a link. Choose one of the options.
- Open in a new window: This option opens the website in a new window.
- Arrange: Using this dropdown menu, you can select how and where you wish to display the pop-up.
- Open in a new tab: This option opens the website in a new tab.
- Embed in designated area: This option opens the website in a designated area within the map.
- If you choose this option, you will need to enter a value in the Width and Height boxes. The value of width and height are measured in tiles and each tile is 32px x 32px.
- Enter a name in the Display Name (optional) box. This field allows you to display a name above the portal object for the web link.
- Set the trigger method.
- You can make the portal invisible by clicking the Hide portal object button.
Press F: This option causes the portal to only trigger when a user presses F.
Move automatically: This option causes the portal to trigger when a user steps on the tile.
Placing a link or opening a new window may not be possible in the following situations:
- The URL link is an HTTP address.
- The original site blocks embedding.
As many websites do not allow web embedding, we recommend using the "Open website in a new tab" function instead.
