What Is an "Escape Room"?
An escape room is a game in which you discover clues, solve puzzles, and accomplish tasks in order to escape from the setting of the game in a limited amount of time.
Go to Play Bonbon School Detectives
Basic Rules
Move
If you are using the desktop version, you can move your avatar up, down, left, and right by pressing the corresponding arrow key (โ, โ, โ, โ) on your keyboard.
On mobile, you can move your avatar by using the virtual circle pad displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Inspect and Interact
You can check mysterious objects by pressing F (desktop) or by tapping the purple interaction icon (mobile).
Open Doors or Locks
When you interact with a locked door, safe, drawer, etc., a dialog box pops up where you can enter the password. Passwords can be English words, letters, and/or numbers.
You can get hints for each password throughout the Space, so please make sure to remember well or keep a note when you think you find a potential key!
Tips for a Successful Escape
Look into Every Object
Although they seem to be unremarkable objects, everything โ desks, frames, drawers, posters, and envelopes โ exists for a reason. Never miss anything suspicious, especially something that is sticking out from the corner or underneath some furniture.
Read Every Single Sentence
Most of the writing that appears in the game includes hints needed for you to understand the case. If you skip them because you find reading them a nuisance, you'll definitely regret it.
Utilize the Quick Note Feature
With the ZEP's Quick Note feature, you can write down the passwords or clues you find while playing the game. Of course, you can proceed without writing down notes, but you may need to backtrack if you forget the password.
Be Imaginative but Judge by Inference
Most puzzles have clear answers, but there are some questions that contain figurative expressions as well. However, you don't have to worry too much because most of the expressions are based on basic common sense. Take it easy!
Don't Get Too Obsessed with Unsolved Problems
You may feel frustrated when you cannot open a door even though you have the key to it. Please keep in mind what you think may be the correct password might actually open a different door. Finding a key or password means you can solve one of the problems and open a new path. So move around and look for other options if the door in front of you won't open.
Keep Calm and Stay Positive
You may run into question marks, which are portals to the hint zones. If you feel frustrated, you can visit the hint zone and purchase the correct answer to solve the corresponding question. Games are meant to be fun!
Arithmetic is Not Required
Anyone can solve all of the puzzles if they know how to count. Let's be honest, calculations are not fun at all.
Collect the Teddy Bears
There are teddy bear stamps hidden all over the school building. They seem to have nothing to do with the game, but collecting them will be useful in the end. Those stamps work as a bookmark so that you can jump to where you left off if you don't finish the game. In addition, we have prepared a bonus game for those who collect all the stamps!
If you want others to enjoy this game, and if you wish for more and more escape room games to be produced in the future, please don't give out spoilers. Spoilers ruin the game for other players and discourage the game producers.
